Spoilers: show both ending routes

Santiago Garcia has not written an ending explanation. I am separating what the build and the videos show from what people guess. The choice sits at the attic hatch. The button labels in the Windows build are GO UP and EXIT.

What the videos label

  • D4iane520’s video, uploaded 2026-10-18, chapters “Leave The House” and “Go Back Up To The Attic.” Runtime 34:07.
  • Midnight Matinee Games marks “Go Back (Ending 1)” at 18:26 and “Leave (Ending 2)” at 19:35 inside a 21:49 video that shows both.
  • Credits strings include “MADE BY SANTIAGO GARCIA”, “To Be Continued”, “Special Thanks”, “Pizza-Mateo”, and the joke “Thank you for playing. When you're ready to leave, press Alt + F4.” That last line is a gag in the credits, not the way you quit Windows.

Leave the house

On the leave route, the Midnight Matinee video shows Stuart crossing the living room and kitchen and going out the back door, then the credits. I am not calling that route “safe.” A comment under one video says the last ending jumpscare “scared the heck out of me,” and an itch.io comment compares the endings to Blair Witch. Those are reactions, not a map of which button fires the scare.

Go back up

The attic route has the lines “Egbert, where are you?” and “Egbert? What are you doing? Come down.” The build also contains MonsterMaskFollow, ScreamerWatching, FinalScreamer, NPCAttic, and a scene named AtticTwo. That is enough to say the attic direction includes a mask, a monster follow, and a screamer asset. It is not enough to promise that GO UP always scares you and EXIT never does. I have not recorded both buttons myself.

Questions

How many endings are there?
Two. The Windows build’s final UI strings are GO UP and EXIT. Uploaders label them Go Back Up To The Attic and Leave The House. Garcia has not published official ending names.
Does the game explain the ending?
No. The itch.io page has no story FAQ. Anything about Egbert’s identity or the mask’s meaning is a viewer theory, not a developer statement.
Can I see both without replaying?
This guide has not verified a checkpoint or chapter-select route. Community comments ask for a checkpoint. A recording containing both endings does not prove that your own build lets you skip replaying the earlier story.
