I went in expecting a yes or no. The itch.io page will not give one. Santiago Garcia’s category is Adventure. The tags add Horror and Psychological Horror, and the blurb puts “horror” in quotation marks. That punctuation matches what I saw in the videos: a daytime house comedy that later turns the lights down.

What actually startles

  • Dark corridors. The published game screenshots and playthroughs show dim rooms and narrow, shadowed passages. Our diagrams are not screenshots.
  • An Ouija board, marked as its own chapter about five minutes into Midnight Matinee Games’ video.
  • A mask on Egbert. Garcia confirmed in comments “the mask that Egbert puts on,” and said the mask is not a link to his older games.
  • Sudden phone, knocking, and footsteps in the playthroughs. I cannot give you a decibel number.
  • Screamer assets in the build: FinalScreamer, ScreamerWatching, MonsterMaskFollow.

Who may want to skip it

Skip it if a late, loud face-scare is a hard no, or if Ouija imagery is something you avoid. The low-poly look keeps the gore implied rather than wet, but Garcia never wrote “no gore,” so I will not promise a bloodless game. I also have not run a photosensitivity test. If flashing lights are dangerous for you, do not use this page as clearance.

The scare is short because the game is short. Read the length notes and the endings if you want to know where the loudest moment is discussed, with the spoiler called out there.

Questions

Is it a jumpscare game or a slow one?
Both, in sequence. The itch.io tags include Psychological Horror and Atmospheric. Comments call the start a slow burn with jokes. Scares that players mention land later, including one at an ending.
How many jumpscares?
No official count. Comments include “extremely effective jumpscares,” “I even got scared twice,” and one YouTube comment about the last ending. The build names FinalScreamer and ScreamerWatching.
Is there a content rating?
No ESRB, PEGI, or itch.io content-warning field was on the page on 2026-10-27. Do not treat this guide as an age rating.
